“Dabbling With Spirits”

People do not realize just how dangerous it is to play around with what God call an abomination to him! It seems perfectly harmless to go to a fortune teller, play with a ouija board, or depend on a horoscope for how their day will go. One might say Oh’ what can it hurt because it’s all in fun? The truth is it can forfeit your soul from having eternal life with God for sorcery or what is considered abominable to God he takes literally and is not a joking matter. “He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death”.(Revelation 21:7,8).

As a Christian we are to restore anyone who may be overtaken in a fault, although we will be hated to tell the truth of the word does’nt enter our mind if we truly love God and are even willing to pull someone out of the fire itself. “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ”.(Galatians 6:1,2). “Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh”.(Jude 1:21-23).
David contended with an evil spirit God sent to trouble Saul and by playing his harp had the ability to cause the evil spirit to depart. “But the spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord troubled him. Let our Lord now command thy servants, which are before thee, to seek out a man, who is a cunning player on an harp: and it shall come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon thee, that he shall play with his hand, and thou shalt be well. And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him”.(1 Samuel 16:14-16,23).
Manasseh when he reigned did evil in the sight of the Lord and it angered the Lord greatly. “Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem. But did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, like unto the abominations of the heathen, whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.  And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit (Speaking with the dead = A Medium), and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger”.(2 Chronicles 33:1,2,6).
God wants whats best for his children because he loves them so why would we want to make him unhappy by doing what he clearly states is an abomination to him and make him angry?
